Red Herring is an outdoor arts company based in Bideford, North Devon. We create fun, comic and considered outdoor performance on street corners, in urban parks and more remote landscape settings.
Our style is unconventional, shaking up the expectations of what theatre and performance is about. We like to blur the edges between the performance and the audience, providing opportunity for people to join in. We may ask people to take a walk, to listen to the world around us, to dance together, or step into a story. It keeps us young at heart, ready to discover and be moved, ready to connect with others and to laugh together feel positive about the world.
Our projects generally involve a period of research where we find out as much as we can about the place and the community that live there. Where possible, we offer workshops and other opportunities to take part. If you’d like to find out about this side of our work, then we’d love to hear from you.
