We have managed several projects with schools in Devon, working in partnership with landscape organisations. These have been designed to help young people to connect with nature on their doorsteps with a view to promoting ongoing caretaking of our natural heritage.

In 2024 we worked with Stover Country Park in South Devon, to create a promenade performance with St. Catherine’s Primary School in Heathfield, which the pupils named ‘Tribes ‘n’ Vibes’. This celebrated the history and natural features of the park, with a series of scenes set in locations along a route through the Park.

We worked with North Devon Coasts National Landscape across 2022-23, to deliver two projects. In 2022 we worked with Year 6 pupils from East-the-Water Primary School, Bideford to create an audio journey to be experienced in Northam Burrows and an accompanying exhibition of photos and poems. In 2023 we worked with Year 5 and 6 pupils from Hartland Primary School to create a site-specific performance piece in their school grounds, which represented and celebrated the various habitats found in the Hartland Peninsular.

Please get in touch if you would like us to work with your school to create an outdoor performance project. We can support your pupils to design and create costumes and props, contribute to sound tracks and develop shows for other pupils, staff, family and friends to enjoy.
Our work starts with curiosity and fun, encouraging pupils to use different senses to experience the world around them. It inevitably involves exploration of an environment, the seasons and the weather. However, we can respond to many elements of the school curriculum – physical education, art, music, design and technology, history, geography, science. Our work has a strong emphasis on collaboration, supporting pupils to gain practical understanding of empathy and respect, to have fun and to feel a sense of accomplishment as a team.
We understand about differentiation – some pupils may choose to practice speaking and performing in front of an audience; others may wish to remain in a supporting role, perhaps guided to offer constructive feedback to help performance develop. We are flexible facilitators, able to respond to the pupils strengths, meaning that our projects often have particular impact with children with special educational needs.
We provide Public Liability Insurance, Risk Assessments and our facilitators are DBS checked.
